Just because Rhode Island is the smallest state in the United States, doesn't mean it is lacking of golf courses. Golf is a big Rhode Island activity and you will find some nice courses there. If tournaments are you thing, don't worry, you are sure to find a Rhode Island Golf Tournament to participate in.

There are weekly Rhode Island golf tournaments from May through the first week of October. They are held at different courses around the state. There are plenty of golf courses and country clubs to enjoy in Rhode Island. One fun tournament is the pro's versus amateurs. Something to think about the next time it comes around, qualifying dates have not been announced yet. Rhode Island golf tournaments are also offered for seniors only as well as ladies only.

The number one ranked golf course in Rhode Island, is at the Newport Country Club, followed by the Newport National golf club, Richmond country club course, Carnegie Abbey club and Triggs Memorial golf course. These are the top five courses in the state, but there are many more courses to try. Your favorites may be different, as there are many options across the state, so anywhere you end up, you will have a track not far away. One great advantage of the size of Rhode Island is you can visit any course you would like and only drive a short distance. No matter where in the state you are, none of the golf courses should be more than an hour away from you.

With so many courses in such a small area, you are sure to find the perfect golf course to enjoy. Join a tournament or just play for the day. Enjoy the beautiful country clubs and ocean views, they are absolutely gorgeous. After a long day of golfing, there is plenty to do in Rhode Island to occupy your nights. You won't be bored and you won't regret your decision to give golfing in RI a try.
