Delaware golf tournaments offer many opportunities for competition throughout the state. Whether looking to enter a tournament as a professional, amateur, senior, couple or female Delaware offers several types of championships. The Delaware State golf Association is responsible for expanding the game statewide. Their schedule varies from year to year while offering several competitions for every golfer.
For juniors they may enter one of several Junior championships. At the Essex Golf Club, there is the Junior Inter-Association Cup, which occurs in the beginning of August. The Maple Dale country club holds two championships during the months of June to the beginning of July. These include the DIAA state high school championship and the DSGA & DWGA Junior Boy's & Girl's Championship. If woman would like to compete amongst other females look no further than Springford where the USGA Girls Junior Qualifier is played at the Springford country club towards the end of June.
Around mid September the Senior Amateur Championship takes place at Back Creek golf course. Another option for more experienced golfers is the senior four ball which occurs during the middle of June. The four ball which is a series event takes place at the Odessa national golf course. Another Delaware golf tournament is one that takes place around Halloween. At the end of October the Frog Hollow Golf Club is a competition geared towards teams. This is a fun competition and is the last one held for the year.
