Arkansas is a hidden gem when it comes to playing golf. The good thing about the state is its prime location and close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico but also some hilly and mountainous terrain coming from the Ozarks. There are some beautiful golf courses all throughout the state of Arkansas.
You can find high quality course all over the state from Hot Springs and Little Rock, to Pine Bluff and Fayetteville. Some of the top golf courses in the state are the Fayetteville Country Club in Fayetteville, the Country Club of Little Rock, Diamondhead Golf and Country Club in Little Rock, the Ben Geren Regional Golf Course in Fort Smith, and the Centennial Valley Golf Course in Conway. There are scores of public and private courses all throughout the state and each of them will cater to each and every level of player.
The Nationwide Tour has their Fort Smith Classic in Fort Smith annually and the LPGA has just started playing an event there. Incidentally, there is no major PGA tournament currently held in the state. Some of the top amateur tournaments in Arkansas are ones that are put on by the Arkansas State Golfing Association. Some of these top tourneys are the ASGA Stroke Play Championships, the Mixed Team and Club Team Championships, the Arkansas Nike Cup Matches, and the Women's Southern Senior Championships.
All of the top golf courses and resorts offer fine dining and lodging but most importantly offer some of the best golfing that can be found in the United States. The main drawing point of the state when it comes to golf is that no matter where you go you will always find a nice course.
